So hubby and I were planning on going to go to Ohio for Christmas. He was going to request for a week of leave and we would go there as soon as we could! They told him that he would get it off. This was when he was in one command. So we started looking at plane tickets there. We found two round trip tickets for a little over six hundred! That is such a good price!!! We were going to buy them as soon as he got his leave approved! Well the next day or so, he was switched commands. He asked what about his leave. They say they will fight for him to get it off.
Well apparently they didn't fight hard enough!!
The next command said he was not allowed to take leave because he is still considered in student status and since he is the newest one, he shouldn't even ask to be taking leave! They said that he will have Christmas off though, have a 4 day weekend that holiday. You may ask why don't we go then? We will be on a plane two of those days, so it just won't be worth it.
Its just bull! My husband has not taken leave for a whole year! and then when he asks for it, they say no! That he can take news years leave. But we choose not to because family in Ohio will be at work and we will just be there in empty homes.
We are going to take a trip next year to Ohio to see family when baby Marcus is born. Hubby and I are just bummed. Just one of those things we will have to deal with and move on. Just needed to vent!
